On a sunny summers day, a sky drenched with inky blue, petals floating down around us, a union was formed by two people in love. Surrounded by their friends and family Fred and Renee said vows and and made promises. In a nod to Scottish heritage, there was a traditional tying of the knot ceremony. A strip of tartan was pasted forward, placed over the couples hands and knotted. This day was also the day when I learned the origin of the saying “tying the knot”.
